Pyramid

/ THE PITCH

A man from the back rooms of the Cairo museum finds a maintenance manual for the pyramids and learns that they are part of an abandoned interplanetary relay. He switches it on by accident, and from that morning he is hunted by state security, archaeological foundations, internet conspiracists, religious cults and whoever built the thing in the first place.

/ OVERVIEW

Adult hand-drawn 2D: a thin nervous ink line, realistic proportions with slightly caricatured faces, flat gouache backgrounds with the paper grain left in. Hot dry daylight, ochre and dust and faded olive, and saturated acid colour only where the ancient system wakes up. Deadpan, and funnier for being played straight.

/ THE STYLE SEARCH

This is the one show whose manner cannot be written down, so it is not written down — it is picked. One frame, one prompt, one fixed seed, and the whole LoRA bank run past it in five passes. What comes back is a contact sheet where the only variable is the manner: same pyramid, same craft above it, same light, thirty-five different hands. The frames below are that run, untouched.

/ WHY A FAN AND NOT A PROMPT

Describing an animation manner in words gets you an average of every manner at once. A fan gets you a choice. The prompt stays fixed and only the LoRA moves, so two frames differ by exactly one thing and comparing them is honest. The finalists then go through the same five shots before anything is decided, because a manner that carries one lucky frame and dies on the next four is not a manner.
