Orbital Garden

/ THE PITCH

A twelve-year-old flies up to join her mother on an orbital greenhouse and an accident cuts her off from the crew. The plants aboard hold fragments of human memory, and she has to read them to work out what happened, find her mother and take the station back.

/ OVERVIEW

The only non-animated title in the slate, and it is treated like one: a real actor, honest optics, wide frames, glass and soil and the Earth in the window. Nothing here leans on stylisation to hide a seam — if a shot does not hold up as a photograph it does not hold up at all.

/ FINDING THE LOOK

The manner is not described in words, it is picked. One prompt fans out across the whole style bank in five passes, sorted by family: anime, cartoon, volume and material, print and graphics, photo and render. Photographic realism is the hardest family to land, so the finalists here are judged on faces and hands first and on mood second: a look that breaks on a close-up is no look at all.

/ FACES FIRST

Live action costs us the trick that carries the other four shows: a drawn face forgives a lot, a photographed one forgives nothing. So the frame is built twice — a base pass for composition and light, then a rescue pass that only works on the face, at low denoise, on the same seed. Everything else in the pipeline is unchanged; the difference is where the attention goes.
